So I decided that the best way to get back into blogging was to do a short post instead of ridiculously long one that I would never finish. These are the things this post will cover:
- I’ve finished 13 more books!
- The Bachelorette
- Adventures in Babysitting
First: BOOKS! Holy cannoli, I’ve finished so many books since Kavalier and Clay! I’m so proud! I followed Kavalier and Clay with a super easy, fun, fast read – Crazy Rich Asians. It was recommended by David Molino Dunn and was such a nice change of pace to the lengthy tome that was Kavalier and Clay. It follows the lives of the extremely wealthy Asians (mostly based in Singapore). There’s a sequel coming out this summer, China Rich Girlfriend, and I cannot wait – hopefully it’ll be just as deliciously fun. I’ll get to the rest of the books in a later post, but here’s the list of the ones I read:
- Crazy Rich Asians
- Forever Chic
- The Night Circus
- The Royal We
- American Savage
- Bringing Up Bebe
- Water for Elephants
- If I Stay
- The Husband’s Secret
- The Hypnotist’s Love Story
Currently, I’m back on Dragonfly in Amber. I accidentally returned it to the library (it was a Kindle borrow) before I was done with it, but I’m now reading it from Katie’s/Colin’s kindle library, so I’m hoping to finish it this week!
Current progress: 36%
Hopefully at this rate, I’ll catch up to where I’m supposed to be with my reading challenge by the time I arrive home from Europe at the end of July!
Current Reading Challenge Progress: 33%
Di said something recently that blew my mind a little. She said there’s no such thing as a sexy wedge. Is such a thing true? Who knows, but Robert and I have agreed that if there is such a thing as a sexy wedge, this one counts as one. I recently ordered it as part of a massive Tory Burch order, but had to exchange them for a smaller size. Hopefully they come in this week in time for Caitlin’s engagement party, and hopefully they fit!
The Bachelorette has become MUST watch viewing for me. It’s ridiculously fun to watch with a group of people. The McGee house is the best watch party in town, in my opinion. And not just because there’s always free pizza and alcoholic beverages. If I can’t watch The Bachelorette with Katie, I’m going to watch it with her mom, her sister, Jill, and Michelle. And then I’ll FaceTime with Katie the day after to break it down some more. I haven’t checked the schedule yet, but I think there’s a good chance that Katie and I will get to watch some episodes together in real time once I land in Europe! Yes, I know, that’s what ALL people fly to Europe to do – watch trashy reality TV with their best friends.
Last, but certainly not least, I babysat for Edie and August this past Saturday and Edie might be my favorite thing ever. Here she is in the hallway desperately trying to get my attention. At one point she was even waving her hand in the air to see if I would notice her. Her hallway adventure lasted for at least 15 minutes before I finally gave in and acknowledged her presence.
Next time on Livia, Actually:
- Hopefully I’ll have finished Dragonfly in Amber, and a quick review of some of the other books I previously finished.
- Janice and Steve’s gorgeous Aspen wedding!
- and other stuff that hasn’t yet been decided…
